In this lecture you will learn about different types and forms of LEDs, controllers and how to incorporate them in your costumes or props. This session will provide you information on must have tools and hardware to construct your first complex lighting project. You will learn the basics of soldering, software programming (or rather how to avoid it without loss of quality), and how to ensure both, a safe working environment and safe application of electronics in your costumes. As a bonus, you will see how 3D printing helps leveling up your LED projects!
Since 2022, LEDs have become an integral part of Yukimin costumes. She made a "shining" debut with her first ever LED cosplay - Tennoji Rina and her iconic Rina-chan board made from scratch! Since then, all of her costumes have some kind of lights, be it small accesories or huge strips of LEDs covering most of her costumes!
